Innocence, curiosity, love, beauty, courage, goodness, belief, sincerity, faith...

Innocence, curiosity, love, beauty, courage, goodness, belief, sincerity, faith...

The older I get, the more I see those things disappear. It's the sad truth, and I can't do anything to hold on and keep them to myself. Life just happens, you know? All I can do is sit back and watch it... happen.

let there be sleep...
Life shouldn't be like this. When your sleep is being compromised, you know something is wrong. I've got 3 exams tomorrow, and i'm sleepy. But I'm not ready, so I can't be sleepy. I've been at this since 8am, and i've had 4 breaks so far. One of these breaks I am going to doze off.. i know it.

This is wrong. You see?

The Love of Parents

Bhai Sahib Bhai Gurdaas jee writes in his Vaars:
ਨੂੰਹ ਨਿਤ ਮੰਤ ਕੁਮੰਤ ਦੇਇ ਮਾਂ ਪਿਉ ਛਡਿ ਵਡੇ ਹਿਤਆਰੇ ॥
nooh nit mant kumant de-e maa pio shhadd vadde hatiaare
The daughter-inlaw then started continuously advising her husband to desert his parents instigating that they had been tyrants.

vakh hovai put rann lai maa pio de upkaar visaare
Forgetting the love and help of the parents, the son along with his wife got separated from them.
lokaachaar hoe vadde kuchaare 12
Now the way of the way of the world has become grossly immoral.

(12)(Vaar 37: Pauree 12)Bhai Gurdaas jee in another Pauree writes:
ਮਾਂ ਪਿਉ ਪਰਹਰਿ ਕਰੈ ਦਾਨ ਬੇਈਮਾਨ ਅਗਿਆਨ ਪਰਾਣੀ ॥
maa pio parhar karai daan be-eemaan agiaan paraanee
The person who having deserted his parents performs charities, is corrupt and ignorant.(Vaar 37: Pauree 13)

Test for the Sikh

Je man pute wis dey tis kaun piara,
Je ghar bhanje paharu kaun rakhan hara.
Bera dobe patani kaun par utara.
Aagu laio jhar pave kis kare pukara.
Je gur bharmai sang kar kia sikh vichara.
Bhai Gurdas Ji : 22 :35
If a mother gives poison to her son, who is dear to her?
If a watchman breaks into a house , who can save it?
If boatman sinks the boat, who can take it across?
If a ruler oppresses, to whom can you complain?
If a fence starts eating the crops, nobody will protect it.
If a Guru plays tricks, what can a Sikh do?

"According to Bhai Gurdas, only few can, by grace of Guru, pass this test though everybody says that body, soul and wealth all belong to the Guru." -- From Tales of Truth (Sikh Martyrs) by Santokh Singh Jagdev.

Guru Ji's Daughters - Let us Do Seva

Harimandir Sahib longs for the touch of Thy mothers,
Thy sisters, daughters, and all the others,
Who bow each day to Siri Guru Granth,
Following the path of the Khalsa Panth,
Who enter freely through all four doors,
Except when it is time to clean the floors.

In those holiest hours when it is such
A beautiful time to serve and touch
The marble where the saints have walked,
Why must those gilded doors be locked
To women alone, the Guru’s daughters,
Cleansed by Thy Word and Thy Holy Waters?

The women of Bibi Bhani’s line,
And those descended from Mata Sahib Kaur’s time,
Gather as one to utter this prayer:
"O compassionate Guru of infinite care,
Let all Sikhs enact this holy rite,
As all are immaculate in Thy sight.
